2013

     The Third Graders have been working very hard this year.  We were pleased to have another student join our class at semester.  We begin each morning with activities to get our minds ready to work with things, such as , special activity pages we do each day, along with Daily Oral Language sentences, journaling, and then beginning our regular subjects. In Bible, we are continuing the journey with Moses leading God's people through the wilderness onto Joshua taking over as leader, conquering cities for the Lord. God continues to show His faithfulness to His people even when they don't remember their faithfulness to God. Our Math is at an exciting time for the class as they learn their multiplication facts through a variety of fun ways to learn their times tables. Every six weeks we have a Spelling Bee which the class finds interesting, esp. when there are rewards they receive for doing well on remembering the correct spelling of their words. Our Reading program this year takes on several new aspects as we incorporate classic chapter books that we enjoy reading together, plays, and a new reading tool called Mindplay Virtual Reading. Mindplay will be used in conjunction with the computers to reach each child at their level  and take them higher in all levels, like, comprehension, phonics, speed reading, etc. I am looking forward to seeing great results for each child.
